Originating in the village of West Burton in the Yorkshire Dales, Moorside Design started making Moorside Cats at The Cat Pottery over 40 years ago.​

Two generations of the Nichols family, Shirley, Barrie, and daughter Sarah, together with many cats have been involved in the business since 1982.

Resident cats Chloe, Orlando, Zoe, Millie, Tilda, Ruby, Alfie, and Sophie, have been inspiration for our Moorside cats.

Having now relocated to a small bespoke studio, Sarah continues to create her unique lifelike portrayals of cats in clay specialising in terracotta.​
